Manfred Beutner
Manfred Beutner (born May 23, 1914 in Frauenhain ; † November 8, 2002 in Oldenburg ) was a German officer , most recently in the rank of colonel in the Bundeswehr .
Life
Beutner joined the Wehrmacht in 1935 and in 1945 went into Soviet captivity in Kurland , from which he was released in 1955. In 1959 he joined the German Armed Forces and until his end of service in 1972 was the commander of the 5 Panzerjäger Battalion and the 25th Airborne Brigade .
In 1972 he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
