Manfred Fischer (pharmacist)

Manfred Fischer (born October 10, 1906 in Bühl ; † January 4, 1987 ibid) was a German pharmacist , chemist and entrepreneur .

Life

Manfred Fischer was born as the son of the pharmacist August Fischer. He first attended the secondary school and high school in Baden-Baden and passed his Abitur. From 1926 to 1928 he learned pharmacy . He passed his pharmaceutical pre-examination in Karlsruhe and completed the candidate year in Freiburg im Breisgau and then studied from 1929 to 1931 at the University of Frankfurt am Main . After his pharmaceutical state examination, he studied chemistry in Frankfurt and Königsberg from 1931 to 1932 . In addition, he then studied business administration at the University of Heidelberg and at the same time founded a pharmaceutical manufacturing company (Arzneitmittelwerk Fischer). In 1932 August Fischer invented the world's first ready-to-use synthetic resin adhesive: UHU all-purpose adhesive. In 1937 Manfred and his brother Hugo Fischer took over their father's chemical company (chemical office supplies) and expanded it into a branded goods company ( UHU ).

Manfred Fischer was drafted as a field pharmacist from 1943 to 1945. As an employee of General Pharmacist Werner Knoll , he started the army’s own production of 17 military district sanitary parks. He managed his company until 1971, which was then taken over by the British company Beecham and was known as Lingner + Fischer from 1974 . From 1964 he was President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was made an honorary citizen of the city of Bühl in 1966 .

Fischer was an accomplished chemist, business economist, entrepreneur and the inventor of the preparation badedas . All products of the family business were in-house developments, including, for example, toiletries, various special adhesives, Gerioptil and others. In 1932 he founded the pharmaceutical manufacturing company called "Sanopharm". Articles by him have been published in various specialist journals. In the "Wehrpharmazie" in 1944 he published the much-acclaimed publication "The in-house production and the management comparison of the military district sanitary parks". He presented a very thorough analysis of the entrepreneurial phenomenon in his book “Entrepreneurs appointed to lead”.
