Manfred Maeder (born August 14, 1945 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

At the age of 20 Maeder belonged to Tasmania Berlin , for whom he played four point games in the Bundesliga , in which the club was accepted by the DFB for the 1965/66 season . The admission came unexpectedly after the local rival Hertha BSC had completed two seasons in the top German division, which was newly founded in 1963, and was downgraded to the Regionalliga Berlin by the DFB due to serious violations of the statutes . In addition, Tennis Borussia Berlin had failed as champions of the Regionalliga Berlin 1964/65 in the promotion round and the second-placed club Spandauer SV renounced promotion. Maeder made his Bundesliga debut on March 12, 1966 (25th matchday) in a 1-1 draw at home against 1. FC Kaiserslautern ; The three other point games he completed on the three consecutive match days, all of which were lost with a total of 0:15 goals, including the highest home defeat of a Bundesliga club to date, when Meidericher SV won 9-0. As one of 24 players, he was a member of the club that is still considered to be the most unsuccessful club in the history of the Bundesliga . After another season in the Regionalliga Berlin , he moved to the newly promoted Neuköllner Sportfreunde , with whom, however, he was immediately relegated as the penultimate.
