Manfred Maiwald

Manfred Maiwald (born March 11, 1935 in Bad Warmbrunn , Lower Silesia Province ) is a German lawyer.

Life

He studied in Heidelberg (1959 first state examination in law ), Hamburg and Tübingen . The second state examination in law followed in Stuttgart in 1963 , and in the same year the doctorate with Wilhelm Gallas . In 1969 he completed his habilitation in criminal law and criminal procedure law at the University of Heidelberg . From 1971 to 1976 he held a chair for criminal law and criminal procedure law at the University of Hamburg , from 1976 to 1983 he then moved to the University of Göttingen . After accepting a call to Heidelberg in 1983, he returned to Göttingen in 1985 . From 1978 to 2000 he was a part-time judge at the Higher Regional Court of Celle .

His focus is on comparative criminal law, particularly with regard to Italy.
