Manfred Mayrhofer (conductor)

Manfred Mayrhofer (born April 6, 1944 in Lembach im Mühlkreis , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian conductor .

Life

Manfred Mayrhofer studied at the Vienna Music Academy with Hans Swarowsky . From 1976 to 1985 he was first conductor and vice- general music director at the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen .

From 1985 to 1992 he was the successor of Roman Zeilinger chief conductor and artistic director of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and at the same time head of opera at the Landestheater Linz . He then worked at the Vienna Volksoper and made guest appearances at German opera houses.

Mayrhofer has also performed with the Slovak Philharmonic , the Brandenburg State Orchestra and the Ensemble Musica Bayreuth. He also gives conducting courses.
