Manfred Scholz (Manager)

Manfred Herbert Scholz (born August 9, 1937 in Frankfurt am Main ; † January 12, 2008 in Augsburg ) was a German manager and honorary consul of Mexico.

Life

After studying law at the universities in Frankfurt , Grenoble , Hamburg and Würzburg and completing his doctorate, Manfred Scholz started his professional career in 1967 at Deutsche Bank . From 1973 he was the only non-family manager of what was then Haindl Papier GmbH & Co. KG. There he was responsible for finance, controlling and human resources. After the sale of Haindl Papier to UPM-Kymmene , he left the management. From April 2002 to April 2004 he was managing director of the family-owned Augsburg Airways GmbH & Co. KG.

Scholz also held a number of supervisory and advisory board mandates at insurance companies, banks and industrial companies. So he was u. a. Chairman of the supervisory board of ASSTEL Lebensversicherung AG, Gothaer Lebensversicherung AG and Westfalenbank AG. as well as a member of the supervisory board of Pfleiderer , Württembergische Hypothekenbank AG and Drei Mohren AG . Until May 2007 he was also chairman of the advisory board of Droege & Comp. GmbH .

Social Commitment

From 1990 to 2003 Manfred Scholz Chairman of the Society of Friends of the University of Augsburg eV 1999 Manfred Scholz also a member of the amendment of the Bavarian Higher Education Act 1998 at the University of the Free State newly installed University Council elected and by this committee as its chairman.

From 1992 to 1998 he was President of the State Association of Bavarian Industry (LBI), which in 1998 merged with the Association of Employers' Associations in Bavaria (VAB) to form vbw - Association of Bavarian Industry . Scholz was Vice President and Honorary President of vbw until his death. His special focus on education policy is also documented in his 25-year commitment as chairman of the board of the Bavarian Business School (bbw).

He was chairman and member of various cultural organizations, e.g. B. from 1987 to 1993 chairman of the board of trustees of the Munich Concert Society and long-time chairman of the Max Beckmann Society .

He was also Honorary Consul of the United Mexican States in Bavaria.
