The Manitou River is the outflow of Lake Manitou . It is the longest river on the Canadian island of Manitoulin and the longest river on an inland island .
Because of its abundance of fish, it is a popular destination for fishing tourism. The river is a spawning area for several species of salmon, e.g. B. king salmon , chinook salmon, pink salmon , silver salmon , for rainbow trout and brown trout as well as for pike and various types of perch .
