The list of the team cadres of the Swiss 1st Bundesliga in chess 2002 contains all players who were used at least once in the Swiss Federal Chess League 2002 .
ASK Winterthur and Luzern Museegg managed with 12 players each, SV Wollishofen had 17 players play at least one competition. A total of 113 players were used, 14 of whom took part in all competitions.
Players from 9 nations were used, with the majority of the foreigners coming from Germany.
The best individual result was achieved by Dorian Jäggi (Basel BVB) with 5.5 points from 6 games, half a point less (also from 6 games each) was achieved by Ivan Nemet , Hans Karl (both Niederrohrdorf) and Simon Kümin (ASK Winterthur). With Ralph Buss , Jens Hofrichter (both Basel BVB), Daniel Borner, René Hirzel (both ASK Winterthur), Beat Neuenschwander, Giancarlo Franzoni (both SK Bern), Ralph Bauert, Patrick Kupper (both SV Wollishofen), Yvan Masserey (La Chaux -de-Fonds) and Michael Wigger (Schwarz-Weiss Bern) ten players achieved 100% of the possible points, but they only played a few games. Buss was used three times, Borner and Neuenschwander twice each, the other named players were used once.
The oldest player of the season was Hans Karl (* 1935) from Niederrohrdorf, the youngest player was Severin Papa (ASK Winterthur), Julien Carron (Schwarz-Weiss Bern) and Oliver Kurmann (Lucerne Musegg), born in 1985 .
