Manoel dos Reis de Farias

Manoel dos Reis de Farias (born April 23, 1946 in Orobó , Pernambuco , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Petrolina .

Life

Manoel dos Reis de Farias was ordained a priest on January 6, 1983 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Patos on August 8, 2001 . The episcopal ordination donated him the Bishop of Nazaré , Jorge Tobias de Freitas , on November 10th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Gerardo de Andrade Ponte , Bishop Emeritus of Patos, and Jaime Mota de Farias , Bishop of Alagoinhas . As a motto he chose Servir na unidade . The ceremonial inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on December 1 of the same year.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Petrolina on July 27, 2011 .

On July 12, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his early resignation.
