Paulo Cardoso da Silva OCarm (born October 19, 1934 in Caruaru ) is a Brazilian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Petrolina .

Life

Paulo Cardoso da Silva joined the Congregation of the Carmelites at and received on 11 December 1960, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Petrolina on November 30, 1984 . The Bishop of Caruaru , Augusto Carvalho , ordained him episcopal on March 19 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were José Cardoso Sobrinho OCarm, Bishop of Paracatu , and Eliseu Maria Gomes de Oliveira OCarm, Bishop Emeritus of Itabuna .

On July 27, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
