Eliseu Maria Gomes de Oliveira OCarm (born September 12, 1920 in João Pessoa , Brazil , † January 15, 2002 in Itabuna ) was a Roman Catholic religious and bishop of Itabuna .

Life

Eliseu Maria Gomes de Oliveira joined the Congregation of the Carmelites at and received on 17 September 1944, the priestly ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on February 3, 1968 auxiliary bishop in Maceió and titular bishop of Tituli in Numidia . The Archbishop of Maceió, Adelmo Cavalcante Machado , donated him episcopal ordination on March 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Gabriel Paulino Bueno Couto OCarm, Bishop of Jundiaí , and Raimundo Luí OCarm, Bishop of Paracatu .

The Pope appointed him Bishop of Caetité on February 5, 1974 . John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Itabuna on September 24, 1980. He resigned from his office on July 20, 1983.
