Manuel Karasek (born September 18, 1967 in Stuttgart ) is a German writer and journalist .

Life

Karasek is the second eldest son of Hellmuth Karasek and his first wife Marvela Ines Mejia-Perez. With the older brother Daniel , the younger half-brother Nikolas and the younger half-sister Laura, he has three siblings. He grew up in Stuttgart , Hamburg and Caracas . In 1988 he graduated from the Jahn Comprehensive School in Hamburg. Then community service in Hamburg. From 1990 to 1995 he studied Ibero-Romance languages ​​in Bonn. His collection of short stories El Tigre was published in 1995. From then on he carried out various journalistic activities.

Manuel Karasek has lived in Berlin since 2000.

In 2017 he published the novel Mirabel's Decision .
