Manuel Romero Arvizu

Manuel Romero Arvizu OFM (born April 13, 1919 in Eztatlan , Mexico ; † November 6, 2009 in Tepic , Nayarit , Mexico) was the prelate of Jesús María del Nayar .

Life

Manuel Arvizu joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 24 June 1945, the priestly ordination .

Pope John XXIII appointed him on May 24, 1962 titular bishop of Dusa and prelate of the newly founded prelature of Jesús María del Nayar. He received episcopal ordination on August 15 of the same year by the Archbishop of Guadalajara , José Garibi y Rivera . Co- consecrators were the Coadjutor Archbishop of Guadalajara, Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero , and the Bishop of Tepic , Anastasio Hurtado y Robles .

As a council father, he participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council . He renounced the titular bishopric of Dusa on February 15, 1978.

On June 27, 1992, Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
