Life

Manuela Gretkowska studied philosophy in Kraków . In 1988 she left Poland for Paris and wrote her first short stories. In the 1990s she published in the Polish editions of Elle and Playboy . In 1996 Andrzej Żuławski filmed her screenplay The Shaman . In 2001 another film was made based on a script by her under the title Egoisten . She also wrote scripts for the Polish television series Our Little Town . Between 1997 and 2001 she lived in Sweden . Between 1990 and 2008, 13 books of her works have been published - for example Polka (The Pregnancy Diary), Die Europäischeerin , My zdies' emigranty .

On January 11, 2007, she founded the Polish women's party Partia Kobiet , the aim of which was to enter the Polish Sejm and the European Parliament in the elections . In the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2007 , however, this project failed with a share of 0.28% of the vote at the five percent hurdle , although it must be taken into account that the newly founded party was not yet able to run in the early elections in all constituencies. However, the party achieved above-average election results with the Polonia members who were eligible to vote . In Brussels it was even able to outstrip the PSL .
