Marc Beaucage (born February 14, 1973 in Trois-Rivières , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who last played for the Jonquière Marquis in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey .
Player career
Beaucage began his career in 1990 in the Canadian Junior League Québec Major Junior Hockey League with the Laval Titan . There he was able to improve continuously and in his fourth year scored 101 points scorer in 63 games. In the following two seasons, the 1.80 m tall striker played for the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in the Canadian Interuniversity Athletics Union and for HC Courmaosta in the Italian A1 series .
In the summer of 1998, Beaucage moved to the American Hockey League and went on the ice for the Fredericton Canadiens , the then farm team of the Montréal Canadiens . After he figured out hardly any chances of a permanent engagement in the NHL in 2001 , he was drawn to the German Ice Hockey League with the Augsburg Panthers . Further career stations were the DEG Metro Stars , the Krefeld Pinguine and the Frankfurt Lions , with whom he played in the 2005 European Champions Cup .
For the 2005/06 season , the left-handed shooter signed a contract with the Hamburg Freezers , where he became one of the top performers and was also one of the best scorers in the team. After his performance waned, his contract was not renewed in the summer of 2008. Beaucage then moved to the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey to the Caron & Guay de Trois-Rivières , for which he went on the ice from the 2008/09 season and the three following seasons. After he was initially without a club in the 2012/13 season, the Jonquière Marquis signed him in September 2013 .
