Life

Culler (the son of Glen Culler ) studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara with a bachelor's degree in 1973 and received his doctorate in 1978 with John Stallings at the University of California, Berkeley ( Genus of elements in a free group ). As a post-graduate student , he was an instructor at Rice University .
