Marc Köpp

Marc Köpp (born July 10, 1968 in Hamburg ) is a German basketball coach . He is a former trainer in the DBBL and holds the A license of the German Basketball Federation .

Career

Köpp started his career in 1986 at SC Rist Wedel e. V. rather coincidentally through a coaching representative. Later he made stops in Göttingen, Dorsten and Hamburg, but always returned to his hometown club SC Rist Wedel.

As a coach, Köpp won numerous championships in the adult and youth field. Among other things, he was four times German youth champion, in 1998 and 2003 he led Wedel youth teams to win the Lundaspelen tournament . He led SC Rist Wedel in the Bundesliga in 2000 and as a new league player in the 2000/01 season in the DBB Cup final. After the 2000/01 season he was named DBBL coach of the year . Wedel played in the European Cup in 2001/02 and 2002/03 under his direction. Before the start of the 2005/06 season he took over the coaching position at Bundesliga club BG Dorsten , at the end of January 2006 it came to a separation. In 2007 he was ninth as assistant coach of the female U18 national team at the European Championships in Spain.

Training with many sometimes still active internationals (u. A. Linda Fröhlich , Katharina Kühn , Dana Penno , Margret Skuballa , Anna Goerg , Laura Rahn ) led Köpp early on in cooperation with the basketball teacher Ewald Schauer , at the book 's throw coach basketball he worked , and since then technical throwing training has been one of the main focuses of his coaching work. In the 2011/2012 season he was in charge of the NBBL team at Bramfelder SV (Hamburg) as a technical trainer.

Since 2007 Köpp has been working as a consultant in trainer training for clubs and associations. Especially since 2010 he has been deputy chairman of the teaching and coaching committee of the Hamburg Basketball Association.

Between 2012 and 2014, Köpp was head coach of Stormarn Wild Wings in the U17 Bundesliga WNBL (2012/13 season) and then, after the merger with the U17 of SC Rist Wedel, coach of the Metropolitan Baskets Hamburg syndicate, also in the WNBL (2013 season / 14). Later he worked again in the Wedel junior division and as a selection trainer for the Hamburg Association. In 2019, he led the Wedel women in the female U14 age group to the finals of the German Championship, where they finished fourth.
