Margret Skuballa (born October 7, 1987 in Hamburg ) is a former German national basketball player .

society

Skuballa started playing basketball at SV Lurup (BG Hamburg West), but already switched to SC Rist Wedel as a youth player and played there first in the 1st women's basketball league , then in the 2nd women's basketball league . For the 2005/06 season she moved with teammate Anna Görg to BG Dorsten in the Bundesliga, where her former Wedel coach Marc Köpp worked. When the BG Dorsten end of 2006 the license for Ladies Basketball League returned and the professional women's team withdrew, the 1.86 meter long Skuballa joined the 2007-08 season along with her teammate Natalie Gohrke for BC Marburg . Skuballa was a top performer in Marburg for seven years. In the 2010/11 season she was named the best German player in the Bundesliga by eurobasket.com after she had averages of 13.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in 29 games.

After she was the best Marburg scorer in the 2013/14 season with 16.2 points per game, Skuballa moved from BC Marburg to France to the local first division club Nantes Rezé Basket during the summer break of 2014 . In 28 games in the French league, she posted an average of 10.5 points. A year later she signed a contract with the German first division club BG '89 Rotenburg / Scheeßel. The 14.2 points that Skuballa scored on average per game for the Lower Saxons in the Bundesliga in the 2015/16 season were the team's second highest value this season.

After a year in Rotenburg / Scheeßel, she was signed again by Nantes in August 2016. In the 2016/17 season she was once again one of Nantes' leading players with an average of 14 points per encounter and 7.6 rebounds per game. In the 2017/18 season, Skuballa was hit by bad luck with injuries. Because of a foot injury, she had to end the season after six league appearances (with an average of 13.2 points per game) in December 2017 and undergo an operation.

National team

Skuballa was a youth national player in the youth national teams from the U16 to the U20. At the U20 European Championship in Sofia in 2007, she was the outstanding player in the German team (19.2 points and 7.8 rebounds on average) and was appointed to the senior national team by national coach Imre Szittya .

She played her first international A match in preparation for the European Championship on August 22, 2007 in Gdynia against hosts Poland (47:70 loss). She was a player in the German national team at the 2007 European Championship in Chieti ( Italy ).

In 2008 Skuballa was reappointed to the national team. However, she only cured an injury from the previous season and was therefore unable to attend the preparation for the European Championship qualification and only joined the national team for the first European Championship qualification game. By 2016 she had played 76 full internationals.
