Marc Kochzius
Marc Kochzius (* 1970 in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler ) is a German marine biologist who teaches as a professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel .
Life
Marc Kochzius grew up in the Rhineland and consisted in 1989 at Are Gymnasium Bad Neuenahr the High School . He completed his biology studies at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the University of Bremen . In 1996 he passed the diploma examination, in 2002 his doctorate . In 2010 he completed his habilitation . His main research interests are corals , about which he regularly publishes scientifically. His research took him repeatedly to the Philippines . Marc Kochzius is a founding member of the Reef Check e. V.
In 2018 he was visiting professor at the University of Hawaii , Manoa.
Kochzius is fluent in Dutch .
Private
He is a Roman Catholic , widowed and father of two.
