Marcel Freydefont was a scholar of acting and scenography in Europe from its beginnings from antiquity ( Vitruvius ) to the present day ( Walter Gropius , Oskar Schlemmer , Ferdinand Kiesler and others). From this historical arc of tension he developed the theory of a théâtre immersif . The stage and drama should be immersed in everyday life from the theater. The city is a stage, the building is a stage, the stage is a stage , he explained. From the théâtre immersif headed Marcel Freydefont 2009 théâtre Infuse from. He saw it as playing with imaginary stories over several days on the given stages of real places with the aim of influencing and changing public coexistence:

«Nous, scénographes, disait-il, sommes en quelque sorte un complément de circonstance de lieu et de temps qui permet à l'action d'avoir lieu. »

"We, scenographers as I said, are, as it were, an addition to a given place and time that allows the action to take place."
