Marcel Valmy
Marcel Valmy , also Wolfgang Schnitzler (* 1922 in Berlin ; actually Marcel-Wolfgang Schnitzler-Valmy ; † July 22, 2001 in Seefeld , Upper Bavaria ) was a German writer and screenwriter .
Life
Until 1964 he was mostly called Wolfgang Schnitzler , renouncing his first name and second surname. He worked as a columnist ( short story , glossary , essay , criticism ) for leading German-language publications in Germany and abroad. In 1952 he participated in the German version of the Laurel and Hardy film Als Salontiroler .
In 1960 Schnitzler was hired as a screenwriter for two episodes of the Edgar Wallace films . His first two versions of Die Gang des Schreckens and The Green Archer were largely rewritten, and he then voluntarily renounced any further collaboration.
He was also active as a writer and director of documentaries. In 1964 he received the cultural film award for the Bethel film Life with Suffering . Since the mid-1960s he wrote under the name Marcel Valmy . In addition to several novels, he wrote non-fiction books, including 1988 The Freemasons - Work on Rough Stone - With hammer, compass and square . Valmy was a Freemason , member and speaker of the Freemason Lodge Zurkette in Munich. In this capacity, Valmy wrote a German text for the European anthem .
