Marcelo Chierighini (born January 15, 1991 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian swimming athlete who specializes in the short freestyle courses. At the 2015 Pan American Games , he was a two-time gold medalist with Brazilian relay teams.

Chierighini won the majority of his medals at international swimming events together with Brazilian relay mates.

The Brazilians won bronze at the 2010 Short Course World Championships in the line-up of Nicholas Santos , César Cielo Filho , Chierighini and Nicolas Oliveira over the 4 × 100 meter freestyle behind France and Russia and ahead of the USA.

The performance of the Brazilian relays with him at the 2012 Olympics in London was relatively modest : 15th in the individual relay relay and 9th in the 4 × 100 meter freestyle.

At the Pan American Games in Toronto in 2015 , the Brazilians won the gold medal in the 4 × 100 meter freestyle and 4 × 100 meter medley. At the same event, Chierighini won bronze in the individual race over 100 meters freestyle in 48.80 s behind the Argentine Federico Grabich (48.26 s) and the Canadian Santo Condorelli (48.57 s).

At the 2015 World Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia, Chierighini finished fifth in the 100-meter freestyle final in 48.27 s, with only 15 hundredths of a second missing from the bronze, the winner here was the Chinese Ning Zetao (47.84 s).
