Marco Angeler (born January 28, 1989 in Neunkirchen ) is a former Austrian football player .

Career

As a player

Angeler began his career at SV Schauerberg . In 1999 he switched to the youth team at SK Rapid Wien , where he later played in the academy. In the winter break of the 2007/08 season he moved to the fourth class 1. SC Sollenau . He made his debut for Sollenau in the state league in February 2008 when he was substituted on for Daniel Tometschek on the 16th matchday of that season against SC Retz in the 90th minute. His first goal in the fourth-highest division he scored in June 2008 in a 4-1 defeat against SV Haitzendorf . With Sollenau he rose to the regional league in 2010 . In the promotion season 2009/10 he came to twelve missions in which he scored two goals.

Angeler played his first game in the regional league in August 2010, when he was brought into play against SV Horn in the 82nd minute for Fabian Samec. In September 2011 he scored his first goal in the Regionalliga in a 4-3 win against the amateurs of FK Austria Wien .

For the 2013/14 season he moved to the Bundesliga club SC Wiener Neustadt . He played his only game in the Bundesliga in August 2013, when he was in the starting line-up against FK Austria Wien on the fifth match day of that season and was replaced by Kristijan Dobras in the 71st minute . In July 2014, he terminated his contract with Wiener Neustadt and moved to the fifth-class ASK Eggendorf .

After a season at Eggendorf, Angeler joined the sixth class SV Gloggnitz in the summer of 2015 . He left Gloggnitz after the 2015/16 season, having played his last game for the club in April 2016. In January 2017, he deposited his player pass with SV Grimmenstein , for which he was not used.

As a trainer

From October 2018 Angeler acted as athletic trainer for Bundesliga club FC Admira Wacker Mödling . In November 2019 he switched to league rivals FK Austria Wien . For the 2020/21 season he moved to SK Sturm Graz together with Austria coach Christian Ilzer .
