Marco Konrad (born October 18, 1974 in Höchstädt an der Donau ) is a German football player and coach . As a player in SSV Ulm in 1846 , he gained experience in the professional field.

Career

Konrad started playing soccer at TSV Bissingen. As a teenager he moved to TSV 1861 Nördlingen , before playing briefly at FC Gundelfingen in the Bayern League (then 4th division).

In 1997 he moved to the then regional league team SSV Ulm 1846 . With his new club, he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1998 . There he came on the first game day, August 2, 1998, to his professional debut when he came on in the 73rd minute. At the end of the season there were 20 games and promotion to the Bundesliga . There he was used four times. After relegation, he stayed in Ulm and made 14 appearances in his third year as a professional.

After the sparrows had crashed into the amateur camp, Konrad left the club and signed with the regional league team SC Pfullendorf . There the defensive all-rounder became a regular player before a cruciate ligament rupture stopped him in 2004 . After his recovery, he was a high performer again and was appointed team captain. Parallel to his career in the third division, he studied teaching. Towards the end of his studies, he retired from the captaincy. In addition, he made his first experiences as a coach in the youth sector of the club and got the A license . During the summer break of 2010 he announced the end of his career in order to then work as a trainer for FV Ravensburg . Konrad also acts as a player at his club. In the spring of 2013 he resigned from his position in order to be able to spend more time with his family. He had previously been promoted to the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga with his team . Most recently, he worked as a trainer at SC Pfullendorf from 2016 to June 30, 2018. Now he accompanies the Pfullendorf offspring as a youth coordinator.
