Vernas barberry ( Berberis vernae ) is a plant from the family of Barberry (Berberidaceae).
description
Verna's barberry is a deciduous (deciduous), densely branched shrub that can reach a height of up to 1.5 meters. The twigs are angular, red or reddish brown in color and overhanging, the thorns are usually one-piece and up to 4 centimeters long. The variable, elongated, green leaves on both sides are up to 3 centimeters long and mostly with entire margins, the leaf veins are indistinct. The golden yellow flowers appear in May 15 to 30 in very dense, up to 4 centimeters long clusters. The spherical berries are bright red and unripened.
