Marco Prastaro (born December 8, 1962 in Pisa ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Asti .

Life

Marco Prastaro received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Turin on May 22, 1988 .

Until 1999 he worked in various parishes in pastoral care and then went to Kenya as a Fidei donum priest . In Africa he was pastor in Lodokejek and from 2006 to 2010 vicar general of the Maralal diocese . After returning to Italy in 2012, he became pastor of the Turin parish of Sant'Ignazio and the archdiocese in charge of mission and foreign priests. In 2016 he was appointed Episcopal Vicar for the Turin metropolitan area and moderator of the diocesan curia.

On August 16, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Asti. The Archbishop of Turin, Cesare Nosiglia , donated him episcopal ordination on October 21 of the same year . Co- consecrators were his predecessor Francesco Guido Ravinale and the Bishop of Maralal , Virgilio Pante IMC .
