Marco Steckel

Marco Steckel (* 29. January 1972 in Wippra ) is a German politician of the SPD and from 1998 to 2002 member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After graduating from high school , Steckel studied education , media education , psychology and sociology from 1991 to 1997 . He completed a study-accompanying civil service in the psychiatry Hettstedt . From 1994 to 1996 he worked as a research assistant in the center for school research and questions of teacher training at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . In 1996 he was briefly employed as a pedagogue for the German Child Protection Association. After completing his studies in 1997, he worked temporarily at the SPD regional association of Saxony-Anhalt before working as a pedagogue at the Wippra Special Education-Therapeutic Center. Steckel is currently working at the Multicultural Center Dessau e. V. Here he is head of the counseling center for victims of right-wing extremist criminal and violent offenses.

Political party

Steckel has been a member of the SPD since 1995. From 1997 to 1998 he was a member of the SPD district executive in Mansfelder Land and Juso district chairman. From 2000 to 2002 he was Juso state chairman in Saxony-Anhalt. He has been a city councilor in Hettstedt since 1999 and its deputy chief from 2004 to 2009. Since July 7, 2009, Steckel has been chairman of the Hettstedt city council.

MP

Steckel was a member of the state parliament from 1998 to 2002 . He represented the constituency of Hettstedt and was a member of the committee for equality, children, youth and sport and the committee for petitions.
