Marco Vigerio della Rovere
Marco Vigerio della Rovere OFMConv (* 1446 in Savona ; † July 18, 1516 in Rome ) was a cardinal of the Roman Church .
Life
The relative of Pope Julius II entered the Order of the Minorites and on August 6, 1476 became Bishop of Senigallia . Since January 24th 1502 also Bishop of Ventimiglia , Pope Julius II elevated him to cardinal in pectore on December 1st 1505 and published his name already on December 12th 1505. Since December 17th 1505 cardinal priest of S. Maria in Trastevere , he became Archbishop of Trani in 1506 and Cardinal Bishop of Palestrina on October 29, 1511 . Although he now renounced the Ventimiglia diocese, he retained the Cardinal Church of S. Maria in Trastevere as cardinal bishop. On May 9, 1513, he renounced the diocese of Senigallia.
