Marco Antonio Zúñiga Fernández (born December 4, 1978 ) is a Chilean biathlete .

Marco Zúñiga competed in his first international race in 2002 as part of the Biathlon European Cup in Forni Avoltri and was 71st in a sprint race. In 2004 he was 25th in a sprint race in Gurnigel and not only won points for the first time, but also achieved his best placement in the racing series. At the military World Ski Championships in 2004 in Östersund he was 86th in the sprint, did not finish in the 15-kilometer cross-country ski race and was disqualified with the Chilean military patrol. The Chilean made his World Cup debut in Oberhof in 2005 . In his first sprint, he finished 110th. In the same season, shortly before the Biathlon World Championships in 2005 , he achieved 88th place in a sprint in Pokljuka, his best result in a pure World Cup race. At the World Championships in Hochfilzen , Zúñiga was 102nd in the individual and 111th in the sprint race. Highlight of the career was participating in the biathlon competitions at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games of Turin . At the competitions in Cesana San Sicario , Zúñiga was 86th in the individual and 87th in the sprint. After Carlos Varas at the 2002 Games, he was only the second male biathlete from Chile to take part in the Winter Olympics. After 2006, the Chilean took a break for several years and has been competing in the IBU Cup again internationally since 2009 .
