Marcus Hoffmann (born October 12, 1987 in Nauen ) is a German soccer player . He is currently under contract with FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin .

Career

Hoffmann started playing football at VfL Nauen before he was accepted into the youth department of Energie Cottbus in 2002. There he played in the B and A youth teams and in the U-23 team. For the 2007/08 season Hoffmann moved to FC Carl Zeiss Jena , where he was only used in the second team and went to VFC Plauen after just one year . There he completed 61 regional league games in which he was able to score two goals. In the summer of 2010 Hoffmann moved to SV Babelsberg 03 in the 3rd division and, according to the Kicker-Sportmagazin, was one of two "outstanding" central defenders in the 3rd division in the first half of the season alongside Deniz Dogan . Hoffmann missed most of the subsequent second half of the season because of a metatarsal fracture.

After just one season, he left the Babelsberg team, which was in financial difficulties, and moved to the regional league team RB Leipzig . There he signed a three-year contract until June 30, 2014. With Leipzig he rose to the 3rd division in the 2012/13 season. After a serious injury to his metatarsus, Hoffmann dissolved his contract with the club on August 21, 2013. For Leipzig he headed his only goal in the 3-2 win against Halberstadt on November 26, 2011. In January 2014 Hoffmann moved to the Regionalliga West at Alemannia Aachen .

For the 2015/16 season Hoffmann is moving to the 3rd division to Hansa Rostock . After two years on board the Kogge, 61 competitive games and a total of five goals for Hansa, the cooperation in Rostock ended at the end of the 2016/17 season. After six months without a club, Hoffmann signed a contract with third division Chemnitzer FC in January 2018 until the end of the season . He made his debut for Chemnitz on the 23rd match day at home against FC Carl Zeiss Jena (1-0). A shoulder injury forced him to take a longer break from March 2018.
