Marcus Victor Jan Nyman (born August 14, 1990 in Tullinge , Botkyrka municipality ) is a Swedish judoka . He was 2010 European middleweight champion, the weight class up to 90 kilograms.

Athletic career

The 1.89 m tall Marcus Nyman was the 2008 Swedish champion. At the U20 European Championships in 2008, he finished fifth. A month after the Junior European Championships, he won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships. In 2009 he first won the Swedish championships and then the U20 European championships. At the European Championships 2010 in Vienna he defeated the Austrian Max Schirnhofer in the semifinals and the Georgian Warlam Liparteliani in the final . After a semi-final defeat against the Japanese Shoichiro Mukai, Nyman lost to the French Axel Clerget in the battle for bronze . One month after the world championships, he won the Grand Prix tournament in Tashkent.
