Marcus Reckewitz

Marcus Reckewitz (* 1958 in Wuppertal ) is a German author and editor .

He also writes under the pseudonym Marc Laban .

Life

Marcus Reckewitz was born in 1958 as the son of the painter Wilfried Reckewitz (1925–1991) in Wuppertal. He studied history , political science and art history with a Magister Artium degree in Bonn and Cologne . From 1990 to 1992 he worked in Cologne in the editing department of Taschen Verlag and DuMont Buchverlag .

In 1992 he started his own business and since then has been working as a freelance author, editor for various publishers, ghostwriters and copywriters . He is best known through popular non-fiction books . He was successful with anecdotal books on culinary topics, especially the volumes From Absinth to Zabaione , which he wrote together with Hannes Bertschi . How food and drinks got their name and other curious stories (2002), champagne, truffle and tartare. New curious stories from the world of food and drink (2004) and saffron, sushi and prosecco (2007). Reckewitz also wrote books about Cologne Cathedral and the neighboring Dom Hotel . His works have been published by publishers such as Fischer , Scherz , Argon and Bertelsmann .

Reckewitz also works as a ghostwriter , according to his own information, also for personalities known from radio and television. For example, he worked on dishes with a history. 100 famous classics rediscovered (2005), one of Alfons Schuhbeck's numerous cookbooks . In addition, he works as a PR and advertising copywriter. Among other things, he wrote extensive brochures for Haribo and Lexmark .

Marcus Reckewitz is married to Martina Weihe-Reckewitz and lives in Bonn.
