Marcus Sahlman (born January 2, 1985 ) is a Swedish football player . The goalkeeper has played in Sweden and Norway in his career so far.
Career
Sahlman began playing soccer in the youth of Halmstadt BK , where he moved up to adulthood in 2004. First he was a substitute goalkeeper behind Conny Johansson , he made his debut in the Allsvenskan in a 2-1 defeat in July 2004 as an outfield player when he came on for Dušan Đurić in added time. In autumn 2006, he finally ousted the competitor in the goalkeeper position, so that he came to a total of 13 league appearances in the 2006 season . However, the club signed a new goalkeeper with the Finn Magnus Bahne for the following season, so that he moved back into the second line. In the summer of 2007, the club therefore awarded him to league rivals Trelleborgs FF . There he contributed in eleven league games to relegation in the top Swedish division. After his return to HBK, he replaced the Bahne with his cruciate ligament injury until summer 2008, after which he was second goalkeeper again. In mid-July, Halmstads BK announced Sahlman's departure after his contract with the Norwegian club Tromsø IL had expired at the end of the season . A few days later he was awarded again to Trelleborgs FF to allow him more match practice before his move.
In Norway, Sahlman was initially only a substitute behind Sead Ramović , as he was injured shortly after the start of the season. In the course of the 2010 season , however, he became a regular in the Tippeligaen and led the club to third place in the table and the runner-up in the following year. At the end of November 2011, he finally extended his contract to the end of 2014. After the first third of the season 2012 , he was injured and was subsequently replaced by his compatriot Benny Lekström until the end of the season . After his return to the football field, however, he was again a regular. In the 2013 season he played 26 of the 30 season games, but at the end of the season the club was relegated to the second division.
At the end of July 2014, Sahlman, who was only the third goalkeeper at the Norwegian second division after being relegated to the hierarchy behind Lekström and young goalkeeper Lars Herlofsen and thus had not played a competitive game within the calendar year, prematurely terminated his contract, which expired at the end of the year. A few days later he moved back to Sweden and joined IFK Norrköping in Allsvenskan.
