Marcus Thill

Marcus Thill (* 1960 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor and cabaret artist .

Life

After high school and community service in Vienna, Thill attended the Krauss drama school there in the early 1980s , which he graduated in 1983. He then worked as an actor at the Burgtheater in Vienna for five years . He then worked as a freelance actor and was at the Volkstheater Wien , the Salzburg Festival , the Theater Baden-Baden , the Gandersheim Cathedral Festival , the Theater zum Fürchten , the City Theater Klagenfurt , the Salzburg State Theater , and the United Theaters in Bozenand many other theaters. Since 1997 he has been a permanent member of the ensemble of the Komödienspiele Porcia .

Thill also appears as a solo cabaret artist , among others. a. in the backdrop of Vienna , the neuebuehnevillach , the Residenztheater in the Stockerau Residenz and the Lenautheater . Since 2008 he has been teaching drama lessons and improvisation at the bilingual Viennese drama school 1st film academy . In 2014 he founded the Theater Rakete in Carinthia . As a reciter and chansonnier, he has appeared in orchestral and symphonic works with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and the WDR Big Band, among others .

Thill had his first television appearance in 1983, when he got a supporting role in the ORF film "The luck and the end of the century". Since then he has played around 30 television films, series and individual films, including Hinterholz 8 by director Harald Sicherheitsitz . Thill recently worked with director Nikolaus Leytner on the films Half a Life with Josef Hader and "Operation Hiob", an episode of the Tatort series.

Own pieces

Thill translated several plays and wrote some works himself. His first was called Tilovsky and Ich . The one-man play was premiered by Thill himself in 1993 in the Vienna Residenztheater . This was followed by the clown play Circus Schnabulini , written especially for the Vienna Theater Summer , and the Kokomango - Insel der Geister , a children's play that premiered under the subscription of the Theater der Jugend . Then Thill wrote the comedies Transfer and Spring in the Little Brothel . While the former is still waiting for a world premiere, Frühling could already be seen in the small brothel in the St. Pölten City Theater . He devoted himself to a serious topic in the play Die Kinder vom Spiegelgrund , which deals with the alleged Nazi euthanasia doctor Heinrich Gross . He also directed the world premieres of his plays.
