Marek Mastič (born January 25, 1974 in Bratislava ) is a Slovak - German ice hockey goalkeeper and coach who has been a goalkeeper coach at HK Nitra since 2011 and has been under contract as reserve goalkeeper with the Kassel Huskies since January 2012 .
Career
Marek Mastič was in the 2004/05 season with the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) under contract. Mastič was, together with his goalkeeper colleague Marc Seliger, one of the audience favorites of the Grizzlies. Before the rise of EHC Wolfsburg, Mastič was voted the best goalkeeper of the season in the second division in 2003/2004.
In the next season he played for the Dresdner Eislöwen in the 2nd Bundesliga . He continues his good performance with the Dresdner Eislöwen and has been voted the best player of the month by the fans several times. In February 2006 he signed for another season, so that he could also be seen in the ice lions' box in the 2006/2007 season. His contract was not renewed in the summer of 2007, so he moved to HK Ardo Nitra in the Slovakian extra league. In January 2008 it was announced that Mastič had already been signed by the Kassel Huskies as standby goalkeeper in July 2007 . In the 2008/09 season Mastic stood for the Heilbronner Falken in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey between the posts. After a year, the goalie moved to the newly promoted Hannover Indians , whom he left in December 2009. From February 2010 he was finally under contract with its second division rival SERC Wild Wings . After his contract was not renewed there, he joined the Starbulls Rosenheim in January 2011 . Both in Schwenningen and in Rosenheim, he remained as a substitute goalkeeper without any use.
He then worked as a goalkeeper coach at HK Nitra and received another contract as reserve goalkeeper for the Kassel Huskies in January 2012 .
