Margarete Müller (politician, 1931)
Margarete Müller (born February 18, 1931 in Neustadt , Upper Silesia ) is a former German politician. She was a candidate for the Politburo of the Central Committee of the SED .
Life
Müller attended elementary school from 1937 to 1945. She then worked as a gardener from 1946 to 1948, and then as a tractor driver at MAS in Salow until 1950 . In 1950 she began an apprenticeship at the Gustavshof teaching and experimental farm and studied at the agricultural college in Demmin . In 1951 she joined the SED.
From 1953 to 1958 she studied at the Leningrad Agricultural Institute in Pushkin . Afterwards she was an agronomist of the MTS Brohm and until 1963 chairwoman of the LPG Kotelow , at the same time also a member of the SED leadership in the Neubrandenburg district .
From 1963 to 1989 she was a member of the Central Committee and candidate of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the SED, from 1963 also a member of the People's Chamber and from 1971 to 1989 a member of the State Council. 1973–1976 she headed the cooperative plant production department and later the LPG plant production in Kotelow, then the Agricultural Industry Association (AIV) Friedland plant production . In 1989/1990 she resigned from her functions. On January 20, 1990, she was expelled from the SED.
Margarete Müller was awarded the 1969 among other Banner of Labor , in 1974 with the Order of Karl Marx and in 1981 with the patriotic earnings garnered gold. Along with Ingeburg Lange and Margot Honecker, she was one of the few women in the uppermost circle of power in the GDR.
