Margaret of Baden

Margarete von Baden (* 1431 ; † October 24, 1457 in Ansbach ) was a margravine of Baden .

She was the daughter of Margrave Jacob I of Baden and his wife Catherine of Lorraine .

Margarete married the Elector Albrecht III in Heilsbronn in 1446 . of Brandenburg . The short marriage resulted in 3 sons and 3 daughters:

⚭ 1467 Duke Eberhard II of Württemberg (1447–1504)
⚭ 1476 Princess Margaret of Saxony (1449–1501)

Two of the three sons did not reach marriageable age. After the mother's death, the daughter Margarethe became engaged to the Count Palatine Caspar von Zweibrücken, but fell seriously ill and only barely escaped death. After her daughter Margaretha had recovered, she went to the Hof convent with the consent of her father .
