Margit Mohr

Margit Mohr b. Königstein (born December 4, 1949 in Bruchmühlbach ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Education, work and family

After graduating from high school in Kaiserslautern in 1969 , Mohr studied geography and sport to become a teacher in Saarbrücken until 1975 . She then worked as a teacher at grammar schools in Völklingen , Zweibrücken and Landstuhl until 2001 .

Mohr is married and has two children.

politics

In 1990 Mohr joined the SPD. In 1994 she became a councilor and in 1999 an alderman in Bruchmühlbach-Miesau . In 1994 she was elected to the district assembly of the Kaiserslautern district, where she was chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group from 2000 to 2007. In 2004 Mohr was also elected to the municipal council of the Bruchmühlbach-Miesau association.

From 2001 to 2014 Mohr was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament. There she represented constituency 45 ( Kaiserslautern-Land ) and was chairwoman of the Enquête Commission on Climate Change. She was also a member of the Committee on Environment, Forestry and Consumer Protection and the Committee on Economy and Transport. She resigned from her mandate on February 17, 2014.
