Margret Radich
Margret Rettich (born July 23, 1926 in Stettin ; † May 15, 2013 in Gifhorn ) was a German illustrator and children's book author .
Live and act
Margret Rettich studied commercial graphics at the art college in Erfurt and then worked freelance in advertising. After illustrating numerous books by other authors, she began to write and illustrate books for children and young people herself, often together with her husband Rolf Rettich . She has received several high prizes for her artistic work.
In 1960 she and her husband moved to Vordorf in the Gifhorn district in the Federal Republic of Germany and lived there with him until his death in 2009 and then until her death on May 15, 2013.
Margret Rettich was buried next to her husband in the main cemetery in Braunschweig .

- 1981: German Youth Literature Prize for the journey with the dinghy
- 1997: Grand Prize of the Deutsche Akademie für Kinder- und Jugendliteratur eV Volkach together with her husband Rolf Rettich for their complete works
- 2001: German Music Edition Award
- Since 2002 the primary school in Vordorf , where the Rettich couple lived for many years, has been called the “Margret and Rolf Rettich School”.
