Hersberger is a representative of constructive-concrete art. Since the early 1970s she has developed her own artistic language. The most important medium in her work is light. It arouses associations, creates moods, changes material properties, evokes spatial impressions and brings about various qualities. In her architecture-related projects from 1980, too, light became an important distinguishing feature. Hersberger prefers to use geometric shapes in a variety of color contrasts and constellations. An important focus of her work are the works “Art and Construction” in public spaces in Switzerland and Germany, which she realized between 1980 and 2020. She does not see the artistic designs and implementations as additional applications, but as a real dialogue between architecture and art. Your installations are characterized by clear staging. The room and wall objects as well as the free works on paper are characterized by a simple design language.
