Visitation of the Virgin Mary (Bierdorf)
The Catholic Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Bierdorf , a district of the community of Dießen am Ammersee in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech , was built by the Dießen monastery between 1607 and 1609 . The chapel is a protected architectural monument .
The stately saddle roof building with a polygonal choir and roof turret was built according to Gothic forms. The door, the windows and the choir arch are ogival. The choir has a star ridge vault with keystones .
The altar (around 1606) with the Virgin Mary (around 1624), attributed to Rudolf Zwinck, is designed in the Renaissance style.
The chapel was extensively renovated between 2010 and 2014.
