Maria Gerboth (born June 19, 2002 ) is a German Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Gerboth, who competes for WSV Schmiedefeld , made her international debut on August 7, 2016 in Klingenthal in the ski jumping Alpine Cup and one day later in the Nordic Combined Alpine Cup . While she took 36th place in ski jumping, she reached tenth place in the combination. In the following years she continued to compete across disciplines in the Alpine Cup and other junior competitions.

On January 5, 2019 Gerboth competed in the Nordic Combined Continental Cup for the first time in Otepää, Estonia , which is the highest competition series for women. She finished fifth in both Gundersen competitions. At the first official junior women competition at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2019 in Lahti , Gerboth narrowly missed the medal ranks as fourth. Three weeks later she reached the podium in the Continental Cup in Rena for the first time and only had to admit defeat to Tara Geraghty-Moats in second . Finally she finished fifth in the 2018/19 overall standings . The winter was also successful on a national level, winning the youth championship in Oberhof and the German Cup for Gerboth.

At the end of August 2019, Gerboth made his debut in the Grand Prix . She initially competed in the mixed team competition held for the first time together with Eric Frenzel , Jenny Nowak and Vinzenz Geiger in Oberwiesenthal , but missed the podium in sixth place. She achieved her best individual result in eighth place at the last competition in Oberhof. In the overall ranking she finished 16th. In the 2019/20 Continental Cup , Gerboth was unable to confirm the top 10 results of the previous year, particularly due to a lack of mileage, but consistently reached the middle ranks. The fourth place in the Gundersen Singles at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2020 in Oberwiesenthal came as a bit of a surprise , which, as in the previous year, just missed the medal ranks. A good jump was again used as the basis for the placement, so that she was fourth on the trail . Together with Christian Frank , Jenny Nowak and David Mach , she won the silver medal two days later in the first mixed team competition.

Geboth attends the Oberhof sports school.
