Maria Jespersen (born December 3, 1991 in Hornbaek ) is a former Danish tennis player .

Career

Jespersen, who started playing tennis at the age of seven, prefers hard courts according to the ITF profile.

As a junior, Jespersen played various youth tournaments on the ITF Juniors Circuit from 2005 to 2009 and competed in three tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit in 2006, 2008 and 2009 . So far she has won two double titles on the ITF tour

For the ITF tournament in Odense in 2008, endowed with 100,000 US dollars , she received a wildcard for qualification, where she was also able to win her first-round encounter against her compatriot Maria Christensen before losing to Tatjana Malek in two sets. In 2011 she played four tournaments and also received a wildcard for qualification for her first tournament on the WTA Tour , the e-Boks Sony Ericsson Open 2011 in Copenhagen .
