Marianne Jäger (politician)

Marianne Jäger (born April 8, 1949 in Dumröse , Pomerania ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

After finishing secondary school, Jäger completed an apprenticeship as a technical draftsman at Volkswagen . She then obtained secondary school leaving certificate and became a state-certified mechanical engineer . From 1976 she was employed by Porsche .

Jäger was elected to the board of the Böblingen district association by Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen. From 2000 to 2001 she was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , in which she represented the second mandate of the constituency 5 Böblingen.

After Jäger withdrew from active politics in 2009, she took over the campaign management of the Green state chairman Thekla Walker in 2015 , who won the first Green direct mandate in constituency 5 in March 2016 with a 40-vote lead . In 2017 she also took over this role for the mayor of Böblingen from Stefan Belz , who won the first ballot on February 4, 2018 against the incumbent Wolfgang Lützner , among others .
