Mariano Tripodi (born July 3, 1987 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is an Argentine football player who also has Italian citizenship .
Club career
The striker played for the Argentine club Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires, the ex-club of football legend Maradona, and is part of the U20 squad in Argentina. On July 19, 2006, he signed a one-year contract with the German second division club 1. FC Köln , which has a four-year option. The hopeful talent should first gain a foothold in the Cologne U23.
On December 4, 2006, Christoph Daum gave the young Argentinean a chance in the professional team of 1. FC Köln against MSV Duisburg , which he took with his first goal of the season. However, this game remained his only use in the professional team of Cologne. Since he was only on loan from Boca Juniors for one year and there was a high transfer fee for a job in Cologne, Tripodi moved back to his home in Argentina at San Martín at the beginning of the 2007/08 season . On February 7, 2008 Tripodi moved to the Brazilian top club FC Santos , but was awarded by this in August 2008 to the promoted EC Vitória .
Mariano Tripodi was discovered at the International Ennepetal Whitsun Tournament in early June 2006. There he was voted best player and was also the tournament's top scorer. In the final, Boca and Tripodi beat 1. FC Köln 2-0. From July 2011 to 2013 he played for FC Vaduz in the Challenge League . In his league debut on August 7, 2011 against Stade Nyonnais , he scored a goal when the Liechtensteiners lost 3: 4 at the Rheinpark Stadium .
In 2013 Tripodi switched to the Brazilian club SER Caxias do Sul and then stayed for several years in South America, where he played for various clubs in Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
