Marie Arnsburg (born January 3, 1853 in Vienna ; † May 30, 1940 ibid) was an Austrian painter.

Life

Arnsburg was a student of the arts and crafts school of the KK Austrian Museum for Art and Industry under Ludwig Minnigerode and from 1885 she was part of Emil Jakob Schindler's artists' colony at Schloss Plankenberg . After Schindler's death, she also became a student of Hugo Darnaut , who rented Plankenberg Castle from 1893 to 1912. Arnsburg was known for its mood-impressionist landscapes, vedute, flower pieces and still lifes. She ran a private painting school and also had numerous exhibitions in Vienna ( Künstlerhaus ) and Graz .

She was a member of the Albrecht Dürer Association Vienna, the Association of Styrian Visual Artists and the Association of Writers and Artists in Vienna.

Some watercolors from Arnsburg can be found today. a. in the Vienna Museum and in the Austrian Theater Museum .

family

She was the daughter of the castle actors Friedrich Ludwig Arnsburg (1820-1891) and Marie Fichtner . Elise Fichtner (1809–1889) was her grandmother, her great-grandmother Sofie Wilhelmine Marie Koberwein and her great-great-grandparents Franz and Edmunda Bulla .
