Friedrich Ludwig Arnsburg
Friedrich Ludwig Arnsburg (born October 16, 1816 in Dresden , † August 23, 1891 in Badgastein ) was a German actor.
Life
Louis Arnsburg, as the actor also called himself, had engagements in Brno , Danzig , Braunschweig , Cologne , Riga and Königsberg before he played at the Burgtheater in Vienna from 1848 until his death . Here he was also a professor at the Drama School of the Conservatory .
He was married to the castle actress Maria Fichtner and thus the son-in-law of Karl and Elisabeth Fichtner . His daughter Marie Arnsburg (1862–1940) was an Austrian painter. Friedrich Ludwig Arnsburg was buried in the Protestant Matzleinsdorf cemetery in Vienna, the grave was abandoned.
Honors
There is a portrait of Arnsburg by Eduard Lebiedzki in the gallery of the Burgtheater . In 1930 Arnsburggasse in Vienna- Meidling was named after him.
meaning
Arnsburg was one of the most important actors of the 19th century at the Burgtheater. After initially playing bon vivants and nature boys, he later switched to comic character roles and portraying old men.
