Marija Igorewna Sidorowa ( Russian Мария Игоревна Сидорова ; born November 21, 1979 in Balaschicha ) is a former Russian handball player .

Career

Sidorowa began playing handball at the Russian club Weschnjaki in Moscow . From 2001 Sidorova guarded the gate of the top Russian club GK Lada Tolyatti , with whom she won the Russian championship in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008, the Russian Cup in 2007, the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2002 and the EHF Cup in 2012 . She was also in the final of the EHF Champions League in 2007 with Lada . From the 2012/13 season she played for Zvezda Zvenigorod . She won the Russian Cup with Zvezda Zvenigorod in 2014. In 2015 she ended her career.

Sidorova played over 180 international matches for the Russian national team . With Russia she became world champion in 2007 and 2009 . At the European Championships in 2006 , she won the silver medal. At the 2008 Olympic Games she won the silver medal. Sidorova also took part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London .
