Mary Lynn Ann Burns , stage name Marilyn Burns , (born May 7, 1949 in Erie , Pennsylvania , † August 5, 2014 in Houston , Texas ) was an American actress . She is considered one of the first scream queens .
Life
Burns grew up in Houston and studied acting at the University of Texas . She gained international fame in 1974 in her role as Sally Hardesty in Tobe Hooper's low-budget horror film Blood Court in Texas . Since then she has appeared in only a few films, most of which are also in the horror genre. Burns last lived near Houston, where he worked at a local theater.
