Mario Kallnik (born October 30, 1974 in Spremberg ) is a German sports official and former soccer player .

The former player and long-time team captain of 1. FC Magdeburg was after the end of his active career in the executive committee of the FCM from 2012 to 2017 responsible for sports and finance. Since January 1, 2016 he has been the managing director of 1. FC Magdeburg Spielbetriebs GmbH .

Career

As a player

Mario Kallnik began his career as a young player with the BSG activist Black Pump . Later he went through the youth teams of the BFC Dynamo . In 1992 he moved to the youth department of VfB Stuttgart . There he played in the A-youth under Ralf Rangnick . In Stuttgart he could not recommend himself for the first team. In 1994 he returned to Berlin and played again for BFC Dynamo. In the relegation games in June 2001 against the winner of the Oberliga Nordost Süd , the Berliners could not prevail against 1. FC Magdeburg and missed promotion to the Regionalliga Nord .

Kallnik then moved to 1. FC Magdeburg. In the 2001/02 season , the FCM managed to stay up in sport. However, insolvency proceedings resulted in the club's forced relegation. Kallnik remained loyal to the club and became team captain . Between 2001 and 2008 he won the state cup three times with the FCM (2003, 2006 and 2007) and rose with the club from the top division to the regional division. In 2007 the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga and 2008 qualification for the 3rd division was missed. In the summer of 2008 he ended his career.

As a functionary

After the end of his playing career, Kallnik was team leader at 1. FC Magdeburg in the 2008/09 season . After his time off, he concentrated on his training as a social security clerk at the AOK . He later became regional manager of the AOK Magdeburg.

In 2012 he returned to 1. FC Magdeburg. He took over responsibility for sports and finance on the executive committee. Since January 2016 he has been the managing director of 1. FC Magdeburg Spielbetriebs GmbH . In the summer of 2017, he resigned from the Presidium and has only been the managing director of the GmbH since then. Under Kallnik's leadership, the professionalization of 1. FC Magdeburg was advanced. During his time, Jens Härtel was committed , promoted to the 3rd and 2nd leagues , increased audience numbers and the outsourcing of the club's licensed players department . In addition, the association was excused.
